Megan and Devon’s wedding day was the perfect blend of laid-back charm, meaningful moments, and editorial style—with a little San Diego city magic thrown in. What started as a simple courthouse elopement turned into a beautiful and heartfelt day surrounded by friends and family, ending with an intimate rooftop celebration at Seneca, one of the trendiest spots in downtown San Diego.
The day started at the hotel connected to Seneca, where Megan got ready with her closest girlfriends. They all wore blue as her "something blue," which was such a fun, stylish twist. After getting ready, the crew walked just a few blocks down to the courthouse—originally expecting a quick sign-and-go situation. But due to a small hiccup in the system, they were given a private room... which turned out to be such a happy accident. Their closest family and friends got to witness a small, spontaneous ceremony that felt so personal and full of joy.
After their official “I do,” we took family photos in front of the courthouse, popped champagne with their friends, and captured some super fun, carefree group shots. One of my favorite parts of the day was when Megan and Devin sat on a nearby bench to privately read the vows they had written for each other—away from the crowd and chaos, just the two of them. It was such a sweet moment.
Later that evening, they changed into their second looks and headed up to the rooftop for their reception at Seneca, which sits on the top floor of their hotel. The space was intimate, stylish, and full of energy—think cozy Italian vibes that made you feel like you were in Venice. They served pizza, appetizers, and drinks while reconnecting with more guests who joined for the evening portion.
One of the most memorable details? Their guest book. Instead of a traditional sign-in, guests built little LEGO characters to represent themselves and placed them on a board that Megan and Devon plan to hang in their home. Such a playful, creative touch!
This wedding was extra special to me, not just because of how fun and down-to-earth Megan and Devon were, but also because I have a connection to the family—Megan’s mom was actually my former boss, and when she retired, she reached out to see if I’d be available to capture her daughter’s big day. I’m so glad it worked out. Megan and Devon brought a perfect mix of editorial flair and classic elegance to their day, and it was such a joy to document it all.
From champagne pops to rooftop pizza parties—this day had it all.
